This project had a low pitch slate roof with significant damage that began pulling away from the wall allowing water to infiltrate the roof causing a large amount of damage.
We removed the slate from this roof and used it to repair other sections of the house. Once the slate was removed the porch was jacked up and the header (beam between posts) and one rotted post were replaced. The rotted roof decking was removed and replaced. New Azek synthetic trim (rot-proof) was installed around the new header and post to match the existing trim.
The roof decking was covered with high temperature ice and water shield and a new gutter pole was installed. A 16oz flat seam copper pole gutter with a double cleat was fabricated and installed. Custom fabricated mechanically double locked 16oz copper roofing pans were installed and seamlessly turned up the wall. 16oz copper coping capped off this roof restoration.
