We are grateful to our client who shared this excellent review and project summary:
Kaller did an excellent and timely job on our old Victorian house involving a substantial gutter rebuild, flashing work on several of our dormers, and a new pipe and pipe collar. We’re very satisfied with the work and will have Kaller Roofing back for any future maintenance and fixes.
As first time homeowners we appreciated that Chuck, who came out to quote us the job, was responsive, professional, and fair in his assessment of the work required, as well as how to stage it in a way that worked within our budget. He also had an appreciation of the splendor of the house, the (superior) older construction materials and methods, and how we wanted to preserve it and do things the “right” way with long-lasting copper. He was also able to move some projects around to be able to start on our job within weeks, which was much appreciated.
Mike and Rich who did the day-to-day work were consummate professionals, always showing up on time or early, working quickly, and never hesitating to answer any questions we had about the job. They communicated well as to necessary change orders (you’ll see in the photos that the original wood was rotted out and that we needed significant carpentry in some places). They also worked quickly, completing the multi-faceted job within 3-4 weeks. Chuck set a high expectation for these guys’ work, saying it would be like art. I’m pleased to say they met and exceeded my expectations.
Ultimately, we trust Kaller with our 1888 Victorian with its original slate roof, and will have them back. 10/10 highly recommend
Kaller Response & Summary: We truly appreciate our customers and we thank this customer for the great review in particular Chuck, Mike and Rich appreciate your acknowledgement of the skill involved. This home has a very special slate roof … clear non-fading red. Proudly deserving of proper restoration. The red slate was quarried over the years with very limited supply due to its rarity. Extremely dense and hard, with beautiful unique color found in a small pocket in Washington County New York along the Vermont border. This home built in 1888 – now 137 years later the slate is still good and strong. Our restoration and replacement of the deteriorated metal gutter and flashing elements of this home will now be well protected into the next century and importantly preserving one of the Main Line architectural works of art.
